Convention Centers and Other Main Edifice

Cape Town International Convention Centre
It is located in Cape Town, South Africa, which is closed to the city center and was opened last June 2003.  At present it undergoes expansion and expected to be done in 2010. CTICC is actually situated close to Victoria and Alfred Waterfront.

Durban International Convention Centre
In the year 199, Durban International Convention Center was used as the for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.  In 2002, Durban ICC hosted the International AIDS Conference. Furthermore, it was also the venue of Non-Aligned Movement in 2004. On February 1, 2006, Durban ICC has been proposed to change its name to Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre.

Sandton Convention Centre
This structure will host the 2008 Miss World pageant.  Sandton Convention Centre is located at Maude Street, Sandown, 2196, South Africa. The InterContinental Sandton Sun and Towers and the Sandton City Holiday Inn Garden Court Hote flanked this 12-storey building.

Borg El Arab Stadium
It is known to be the largest stadium in Egypt, Africa and the Middle East. This structure is located in Borg El Arab, Alexandria, Egypt. It was opened to the public last 2007.  An 80,000-seater stadium was designed and built by the Egyptian Army Forces Corps of engineers.

June11 Stadium
It is one of the largest stadiums in Africa. It could hold up to 80,000 people and currently used mostly for football tournament. June11 Stadium is situated in Tripoli, Libya in which its name commemorates the day when American Forces left the country.

Stade des Martyrs
It is located in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. It holds up to 80,000 people but sometimes it goes beyond its capacity. As of 2006 Stade des Martyrs become the highest capacity stadium in Africa.

FNB
Stadium First National Bank Stadium (FNB Stadium or Soccer City) is a football-specific stadium that could holds 78,000 people. This structure is situated in Johannesburg, South Africa.  FNB stadium is known as the third largest capacity in Africa.

 

Stade Mohammed V
It is located in Cassablanca, Morocco and known as the national stadium in the country. Built way back 1955 and was renovated in 1999. It is owned by Raja Casablanca and Wydad Casablanca.
