South Africa Cape Town TV- this is a community television that is broadcasted throughout Cape Town and has been launched in October 2008. DStv- the Digital Satellite Television has been launched in 1995. It has several products that include Personal Video Recorder (2005) and the newly introduced High Definition Personal Video Recorder (2008). e.tv- It is the fifth terrestrial television channel in South Africa. However, it is the only terrestrial TV channel in whole South Africa that has independent news broadcast. M-net- this was launched in 1986 and a joint venture of NASPER (60%) and JOHNCOM (40%). The channel offers overseas and locals shows, TV programs and entertainments. Last August 2005 under KuduClub M-Net introduced its subscription based web TV. South African Broadcasting Corporation- Your South Africa. Your SABC. Broadcasting for total citizen empowerment, as the slogan goes of this South African Government owned station. Composed of 18 radio stations and 4 television broadcasts general audiences. KENYA Kenya Broadcasting Corporation- this is a State-run media organization of Kenya, established in 1928 when Kenya was under the British colony. It aired both English and Swahili languages and of course most of Kenya’s local languages. GHANA Ghana Broadcasting Corporation- this is known as the public broadcaster in Ghana and broadcast to the whole land of Ghana through satellite. Operates one television station and several radio stations located at the 10 regions of Ghana. Ethiopia ETV- Ethiopian television is a government-owned channel that broadcast news, sport, music and other entertainment. Aired in English language, and three Ethiopian languages such as Amharic, Oromigna and Tigrinya.
ALGERIA Entreprise nationale de télévision - this is a government-owned corporation founded on December 1956. Broadcasts both in French and Arabic languages. Also manages Canal Algerie and Algerie 3 (Thalitha TV).
Côte d’Ivoire Radiodiffusion-Television Ivoirienne (RTI)- Runned and owned by the government of Côte d’Ivoire. Radio network was established in 1961 while television network launched in 1966. At present RTI operates two radio and four national television networks.
MALAWI Malawi Broadcasting Corporation- that was on 1964 when the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation came to its existence. A state-run company, broadcasting the whole country of Malawi. It owns two radio satations and transmits on FM Medium Wave and Shortwave frequencies. MALI Office de radiodiffusion et de télévision du Mali (ORTM)- is run and owned by the government of Mali. Established in 1957 and considerer as one of the freest news market in Africa. Mauritius Broadcasting Company- That was on June 8, 1964 when MBC came to its exestense. It is owned by the republic of Mauritius. MBC’s television currently consists of three analog channels, six digitals and two digital terrestrial channels.
SEYCHELLES Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation- SBC is national public broadcaster of the Seychelles and was organized way back May 1, 1992. It uses the three national languages English, French and Creole.
ZIMBABWE Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC)- this is run and owned by the government of Zimbabwe and the successor of the Zimbabwe Rhodesia Broadcasting Corporation. ZBC was launched in 1980.
